$30k Raised at Annual Charity Golf Classic

CB Technologies hosted our 14th Annual Charity Golf Classic at Pelican Hill Golf Resort in Newport Beach, on November 2nd, 2017,  benefiting Uplift Family Services and raised the highest total in the event’s history, $30,000.  Speaking on the success of this year’s event, Hollygrove’s Regional Executive Director, Elena Judd said, “We are so thankful to Kelly Ireland and her entire CBT team and sponsors for once again making Hollygrove the beneficiary of this wonderful tournament. Each year we look forward to being part of this event, which brings together an extraordinarily generous group of folks for a great day of golf and giving.”

Uplift Family Services at Hollygrove is the Los Angeles division of one of California’s largest, most comprehensive mental and behavioral health providers. Statewide, the agency serves more than 20,000 children and their family members in more than 30 counties each year. Uplift Family Services’ programs are proven to be more effective than the national average in helping children and adolescents overcome complex behavioral health problems and recover from trauma. For youth that exit their programs, over 90% are living in the community, staying in school and remaining out of trouble.

Also thrilled with another successful event was CBT CEO, Kelly Ireland. “It is a great honor to host this tournament every year on behalf of Hollygrove. Their work with needy children and families in Los Angeles is truly inspiring, and we do everything we can to help them succeed,” said Ireland. “I’m very proud of our incredible CBT team for bringing another tournament to fruition, and would like to say a special thank you to every player and donor that helped benefit this deserving cause.”

Proceeds from the tournament support Hollygrove’s Endless Summer therapeutic after school program, which serves children ages 6-13 with emotional and behavioral challenges resulting from poverty, abuse and neglect. This highly individualized program creates resiliency, fosters character development and promotes social and academic competence in children who often cannot cope in traditional after school settings. These funds also support our Parent Institute, a unique parent support group providing therapy, parenting education, skills building, and basic needs such as food and clothing to families living at the margins.  CBT looks forward to its 15th charity classic next year to continue the fundraising for such a worthy organization.
